Set in a quiet location in the Peak District National Park, Alder Barn is the perfect retreat for families and friends looking to relax in style. With spacious living areas, beautifully designed bedrooms and breathtaking countryside on your doorstep, this is a peaceful hideaway you'll never want to leave.
Perched among the rolling hills of Hamp's Valley, nestled between hedgerows and streams teaming with wildlife, Alder Barn is a luxurious retreat where design, comfort and nature meet. Restored this year, sleeping six, this beautiful stone barn is made for slow mornings, long walks, and fireside evenings.
Step inside and you'll find a space that feels both elegant and effortless with boutique touches in every corner. Two stunning bedrooms feature statement sleigh beds, dressed in crisp linens, while a charming twin room makes the perfect nook for children or extra guests. The lounge is warm and inviting, centered around an inglenook wood-burning stove and styled with natural textures and soft, layered lighting.
Whether you're sharing a home-cooked meal in the kitchen or stargazing from the garden under inky skies, this is a place that invites you to pause and breathe.

An in-depth look at the bedrooms and bathrooms
When it's time to retire for the evening, choose from three beautifully presented bedrooms.
The first has a super-king-sized sleigh bed, an elegant en-suite featuring a walk-in rainfall shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, all set upon charming patterned floor tiles.
The second super-king-size bedroom offers a sleigh bed, antique furniture and a glazed door leading out to the charming original stone steps and fabulous views.
The charming twin room makes the perfect nook for children or extra guests.
Serving these rooms is a stylish bathroom with a bath, a rainfall shower, WC and plenty of built-in storage.
Additionally, downstairs is a convenient cloakroom with a basin and WC leading off the large entrance hall.

Outside areas and parking information
Outside, you will find an enclosed garden with a lawn and patio area, complete with furniture and a BBQ for alfresco dining. We have plenty of off-road parking, just outside the property, see the photos.

Our Welcome Hamper as well as add-ons and extras
To help you settle into your stay, a thoughtfully prepared welcome hamper containing local and homemade treats, tiny white (and sometimes blue!) eggs from the neighbouring farms' Bantam flock, luxury bath products from Indulgent Blooms and a chilled bottle!
To add a touch of indulgence to your visit, there is an option to upgrade the welcome basket by contacting me directly.
A home-cooked meal delivery service can also be pre-arranged.
For those in need of pampering, Indulgent Blooms will hand deliver any orders during your stay or, if arranged in advance, will lovingly prepare a gift basket tailored especially to your needs and will be delivered in advance of your arrival.
Starter pack for woodburning stove is included in the rent, with an option for more logs to be delivered at extra cost. Make sure to contact me for more information.

Here you will find the appliances, as well as anything that hasn't previously been mentioned
In the kitchen and utility room, you will find: dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and Nespresso machine with milk frother.
In the sitting room, we have a Smart TV, and an inglenook wood-burning stove in the sitting room.
There is WiFi throughout the barn, through Starlink.
There is ground floor underfloor heating, an electric towel rail (upstairs), and central heating upstairs.
We have a highchair and travel cot available on request (please supply your own bedding for the travel cot).
